PediaMed Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to solving one of medicine’s most urgent and underserved challenges: the lack of safe, effective treatments for children. We fund early-stage pediatric research, drive open science, and build collaborative infrastructure to ensure that life-saving innovations reach the youngest patients.

Our Mission
To close the pediatric innovation gap by identifying, supporting, and advancing high-potential drug development initiatives that benefit children—regardless of market incentive.
What We Do
- Fund preclinical and translational research in rare and neglected pediatric diseases
- Support academic, nonprofit, and cross-sector partnerships
- Promote open-access platforms for data, IP, and trial design
- Advocate for evidence-based policies that improve pediatric drug development pathways

Collaboration Model
We work hand-in-hand with researchers, institutions, foundations, and public health leaders to:
- De-risk early scientific breakthroughs
- Build proof-of-concept platforms
- Transfer promising assets into clinical-stage environments
- Create an ecosystem that complements commercial investment with public good
When appropriate, our work supports the creation or scaling of ventures aligned with our mission—including through collaboration with PediaMed Ventures.
Why It Matters
- More than 70% of FDA-approved drugs lack pediatric-specific data.
- Rare diseases affecting children often go unstudied and unfunded.
- PediaMed exists to change that.
- We believe pediatric health is not a niche. It’s a priority.
